Chapter 8 - Second half...
This week, let's finish up "The Exchanged Life Spirituality - Grasping Our True Identity in Christ". From page 104 to the end, we will look at: 1) God's Character and Plan, 2) Our Old And New Natures and 3) Our God-Created Needs. Basically, we're going to dig into the fact that God has set eternity in our heart, and He alone can fill the void (Ecc 3:11). In reading and reflecting, think through these two questions: A) How does God's plan flow out of and reflect his Character? B) Which of the three categories of psychological needs is the most important to you? Where do you usually turn to have this need met?

Sounds good Jason.
ReplyDeleteI am listening to a good talk on Scripture Memory by Mary Mohler, who spoke at the Gospel Coalition in June

It gives different methods of scripture memorization. She seems to recite Colosians 3 and I think that might be a good next passage to memorize.
Some scriptures that help me remember the importance of scripture memory...
I Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Here's a quote somebody took from the talk. "Reading and studying gets you in the word, memorizing gets the word in you."
I think this is the guy, Dr. Davis, that she quotes
